The wide body multi-use towbar is designed to withstand towing and pushback manoeuvres when attaching its fixed head to the nose gear of the various twin-aisle aircraft, including the Boeing 767, Airbus A330, McDonnell Douglas DC-10, Ilyushin IL-76, Airbus A350 XWB, McDonnell Douglas KC-10 Extender, Ilyushin IL-96, amongst other wide-body aircraft.
This towbar features a heavy-duty steel tube powder coated for durability and rust-prevention. All aircraft attachments are rust and corrosion resistant as they are made from stainless steel.
Designed with safety and durability in mind, this multi-use towbar is equipped with hydraulic retractable running gear for adjusting the height of the towbar and pneumatic tyres for absorbing shock loads from impacts and cushion the load. Additionally, it features a safety lock system to prevent unwanted disconnection from the aircraft when in use.
This range of towbars feature an elastomeric cushioning system, which provides gradual resistance engineered to match aircraft weight classes. This cushioning system is made from elastomer, an elastic substance capable of recovering its original shape after being stretched, thus providing further protection and durability.
For added strength, this towbar comes complete with an advanced drop-through shear, limited rotation features and a durable lunette ring design. A lunette ring is a hitch that is designed to connect with a pintle hook to provide a more secure coupling.
The wide body multi-use towbar also includes an extra set of shear bolts for the unit and is available with a custom paint if required.
