The Eagle XL-40 aircraft pushback tractor is capable of towing all narrow-body aircraft up to 163,293 kg (360,000 lbs), such as the Boeing 737, the Bombardier CRJ700 series and the Embraer ERJ family, in all weather conditions. Using a Tier 4i final diesel engine, this front-operator tow tractor is compliant with the latest emission standards.
The operator has the option to switch from four-wheel steering or crab steering. The last steering system allows the operator to turn the wheels in the same direction, allowing the aircraft pushback tractor to move sideways, providing further flexibility in tight corners or limited spaces.
The three-person seating operator compartment was designed for efficiency and comfort, equipped with the required safety features, such as a low oil and high temperature shutdown system, low coolant shutdown system, hot-shift transmission protection, emergency stop, built-in marker and strobe lights and a 12-voltage accessory outlet.
For extra safety, this Eagle tow tractor is equipped with front and rear wet-disc brakes, which last longer, require less adjustment and maintenance over time than dry disc brakes. The wet-disc brakes also provide more stopping power and will keep cool during heavy-braking applications.
The Deutz TCD Interim diesel engine featured a fuel capacity of 114 litres (30 gallons) and has a rated output power of 89 kW (120 HP) at 2800 rpm. It comes complete with a heavy-duty air cleaner, suitable for severe environments, and a dry replacement element.
